The brief

PharmacyLabels.Direct supplies personalized dispensing labels to pharmacies across the UK. The idea was simple: let a pharmacy design its own labels online in minutes, pay, and have the order go straight to the factory for printing, with no artwork back and forth and no proofing.

Building it was anything but simple. Every label had to look exactly as designed, print correctly on different label printers, and be priced by rules that change with the quantity ordered.

What we built

A label designer anyone can use

Pharmacies design their own label and see a live preview as they go:

Designs can be saved and re-used, so a re-order takes a click.

Ordering, pricing and payment

Orders run through WooCommerce with Stripe payments. Pricing follows the client's own rules: a minimum order, with the price changing as the quantity goes up or down.

From order to printer automatically

Each new order goes to the owner for approval. Once approved, it is sent to the printer automatically, so there is no manual artwork step between the customer and the factory.

An admin panel for the business

The owner manages orders and their status, customers, coupons, customers' uploaded logos and custom designs from one dashboard.

The website

A WordPress website explains how it works, shows the pricing and answers common questions, and leads every visitor to "Create My Label".

Built with

Core PHP, JavaScript and jQuery for the label designer and ordering system, WordPress and WooCommerce for the website and shop, Stripe for payments, and custom graphics.
